Workpackage 3: User Interfaces

Currently, access (read or write) to the registry is API based, either directly by interacting with the Web Service using SOAP messages, or by using a Java based client-side API. However, the UDDI API and metadata handling interfaces are fine-grained, which presents a hurdle for first time users of this kind of technology. The proposal is to build a Web browser based user interface that would allow the editing and browsing of the registry contents. This specific point was raised at the Semantic Grid Research Group (SEM-RG), at GGF 9, where it was noted that the ability to point a browser to a web page to browse and edit the contents of a registry would be a desirable feature.
